Senior Follies
Tonight we went to my Nana's Senior Follies dance show performance. It was fun. It is put on by the seniors from the senior center, and is a song and dance show. It was pretty cute. I have pictures and a video I will put up tomorrow... it is late, and I am tired. =)

hmm....
So on Monday, Before leaving Manteca, Josh and I went to a bbq of some long time family friends. There were a bunch of kids there, and one particularly adorable 9 month old little boy. He was laughing and smiling, and just being cute. I held him for a while, and got to play with him a bit.
Fast Forward....
Tonight we are driving home from Adam and Renee's house, and josh looks at me and says "Would you want to have a baby, like soon?" and I'm all "what" (He has always been like "oh, in 3 or 4 years...") And I'm like "why" and he's all... "well, that darn baby at the DaVolt's house... kinda made me want one" HAHA! I told him I wouldn't mind having one right now, except that we don't have insurance. But maybe if I can find a job as a Pharmacy Tech soon, then maybe we can start trying.
We also talked about me going off the pill after next month when I run out, and just letting nature take it's course from there. Although not trying for a couple months to let the hormones and crap get out of my system. (well, just being careful around the right time of the month.)
So yeah... I never thought I would hear the phrase "I want to have a baby" come out of my husband's mouth. At least not so soon! hehe. Definitely makes me smile.

some more wedding pictures.
Happy Tuesday....
maybe?
Well, we made it through the weekend. The wedding was nice, my brother and his new wife are now in Hawaii.... and I am not jealous at all... ok, maybe a little.... or a lot...
Anyways, For some reason, when I woke up yesterday, my hand was itchy. The whole palm of my left hand just itched like crazy, and it wouldn't stop... I tried hydrocortizone cream, lamisil... as the day progressed, it started hurting, and almost burning.... it even woke me up a couple times last night. It still is bothering me, and it kinda comes and goes. I have no clue what it is... it isn't red or rashy... well, maybe a little red from scratching it, but that is all. I don't know. I just know it is bugging the crap out of me.
I am stuck at work all day today. :-p I really with I could have slept in. I didn't sleep too good over the weekend, and I am exhausted. and tomorrow, I have my dentist appointment in the morning so they can finish my root canal. Hopefully that goes well.
Pray that the buyer we have for our jeep goes through! If it does, I am buying a new vacuum cleaner! hehe. (I need it!) that, and we are paying off some debt, which is always nice.
hope everyone has a great day!

Wedding time!
Well, today we are going over to California to my parents house... my little brother is getting married on sunday!
We will be back on monday evening. I will try and update while we are there, but I can't promise anything!
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! I am off to pack and clean! =)
Oh! and if any of you haven't heard, Steven Curtis Chapman's youngest daughter, Maria, was killed yesterday. She was struck in their driveway by a car driven by her older brother. I can't imagine the pain they are going through, so keep them in your prayers!

Our Dog.... 'shakes head'
Our dog is both too smart, and too dumb. At the same time. She is like a freaking Houdini.
She figured out how to escape from her kennel. We kennel her when we are at work because she chews up our door jams and gets into stuff.
Anyways, we have a large wire kennel that we bought at Petsmart. She figured out that she can squeeze out if she tries hard enough and hits it in the corner where it is weaker. She did it 3 times this week. In the process, she cut her nose pretty good too.
So yesterday I found an ad for a plastic crate/kennel in Reno, so we bought it for $50. (good, considering new it would have been at least $125) It is in good condition. Hopefully it will keep her contained....
If she breaks out of this one I don't know what I am going to do....
Freakin dog.
"What?"

Thunderstorm!
We are having a pretty awesome thunderstorm right now. lightning, super loud thunder, I love it! It has been going on for a while, unlike the only other one we have had while we were living here that lasted like 10 minutes. lol.
We have the windows open, & I am seriously loving it!
**update... it just started POURING! Thank God for the much needed rain!**

Bleh...
I don't feel so good today.
After my root canal yesterday, I was fine until mid afternoon, then my whole jaw started to hurt. It went away with some pain meds. Last night I decided to take a vicodin before bed. Not a good choice. me + Vicodin= bad.
I laid in bed for about an hour or more nauseous and feeling sick... I couldn't even fall asleep. No more whole vicodin for me... I wills tick with half at a time.
anyways, today I am tired, my head hurts, and the gross taste in my mouth from the antiseptic or whatever is still there, and i taste it constantly, and it is making me nauseous.
I just want to go home and take a nap. :-p

On leaving comments
I found this blog on I should be folding laundry and I thought it was worth re-posting. =)
I have had many discussions this week with various bloggers about the importance of commenting and how much they mean to a blogger. We all understand that sometimes readers do not comment because maybe they are in a hurry, maybe they are not in the mood or maybe they just don't think that what they have to say really matters.
As a blogger, let me enlighten you on the subject of commenting. I hope that I can encourage you to begin commenting on blogs (not just mine) that you read and also express my gratitude to those readers and fellow bloggers who always or most of the time, make it a point to leave a comment.
I will not speak for ALL bloggers, but I will speak for most, commenting is our payday. Very few of us receive a handsome salary (I've always wanted to say handsome salary) or ANY salary for blogging. Which is fine, many of us blog for the love of blogging, not for money. Some people actually lose money because they pay to keep their blog and pay for their design but do not receive any financial kickbacks. It's a hobby, something we enjoy. Sometimes it's hard work, sometimes it's painful, there are so many reasons to keep a blog, but there is one thing all bloggers have in common, it takes our time, it comes from our hearts, (I hope) and most of the time, bloggers are proud of what they have written.
How do we get paid? Through your comments. A comment is more than just a comment, it's feedback, it's conversation, it's appreciation. You not only hold our "paycheck" in your hands, you also hold our longevity. A blogger who is appreciated is more likely to be a happy blogger and a happy blogger blogs for a long time and doesn't stop because they are under appreciated or frustrated.
The best way I can explain the importance to you, is with this question: Can you imagine wanting to share a story, a thought or a belief with forty people and preparing what you had to say, choosing the right words and nervously approaching them and then saying what you had to say, you say it just as you planned and you wait for the response and the person you are talking to listens to you, looks at you and just walks away. Without a smile, a frown - no reaction. They just walk away. And out of the forty people you say this to, only one replies to you.
That's how it feels for a blogger. But that's the way blogging is and we know this. Do I always leave a comment on blogs that I visit? No. But I should do it more often, and I will.
You may think that what you have to say doesn't matter or your words are insignificant. You may find it hard to believe, but your words are important, they make a difference. Every comment that comes through my blog, is read and appreciated and I know I am not the only blogger who feels this way. I KNOW THIS.
After reading all of this, I hope you don't feel like you can't go to blogs without commenting - because you can. Readership is also very important, I justed wanted to portray for you how wonderful it is to share our thoughts and life experiences with you AND receive some form of feedback. If you are still feel uncomfortable, that's okay. I promise.
So, for all bloggers today, I hope you click on that comment button and say "great post" or "well said" on every blog that you visit.
And I hope you feel good about leaving a comment, because that blogger feels so good that you took the time to leave one.

My appointment...
Well, I went in for my root canal this morning. It ended up alright. I got there, and was sitting waiting for the dentist to come shoot me up with Novocaine, with my eyes closed, just praying and trying to stay calm. Then he comes in and lays me back, and gives me the shots, and I almost have a panic attack. I don't know why... I have never had one in my life! I started tearing up, and I was shaking, and my heart was pounding... after he left, i started calming down a bit, and the assistant was talking to me and was all "if we had known it would be like this for you, we could have gotten you some valium!" Yah, that would have been nice.
After a while the dentist comes back and checks my tooth, and thank God I don't feel anything! so they get to work! a few times he had to shoot some more Novocaine into my tooth, but no big pain... except for my jaw... oh man you have to keep your mouth open for a long time!
So, they are almost done, and he tells me that one root won't stop bleeding, so he packed it with some medicine and put a temporary filling in, and I will go back next week to finish. I think they got all the roots and painful stuff out, so I shouldn't have any issues with it, but I just pray nothing happens with it because my brother is getting married this weekend in California, so we will be there all weekend!
Thanks for your prayers, and thanks to my wonderful hubby who brought me a bean burrito for lunch. =)

Please Pray
I know I mentioned it a little in my last blog, but I am extremely nervous, anxious and pretty much scared about my root canal in the morning. please pray for peace for me. I just pray that the antibiotics this week did what they were supposed to, and the tooth isn't hypersensitive anymore, and they can work on it with no problems, and no pain on my end.
My appointment is at 9:30, so if you think about it, say a prayer for me!
I am so freaked out. But I am taking Josh's Ipod, and am going to ask for nitrous. =) hopefully I will do ok.

Anxious
I am so nervous about my root canal on monday. I really don't like going to the dentist. Everything about it freaks me out. Please pray that I can have a peace about it, and be relaxed when the time comes. =)
Anyways, we are supposed to have a guy who wants to buy our jeep come get it today. I haven't heard from him about what time he is coming, so we will see. I hope, I hope I hope he comes! That money is going to pay off some stuff!
We got our tax stimulus money yesterday. That paid off a credit card. It's a nice feeling! hehe.
I finally found some shoes for my brother's wedding. They are cute, and seem like they will be pretty comfortable.
Today is a big Carson City honors our troops weekend here in Carson City. They have a craft and vendor fair going on, different activities, a motorcycle show, etc. SO we are going to try and go out to like the craft/vendor show and see what's going on. It is supposed to be in the 90's today... nice and hot. I can't complain too much, my mom said it was 103 there yesterday in Manteca. haha. no thanks.
Anyways, off to make some waffles and wake the husband before he sleeps all day! Until next time!

And the winner is....
Bekah! Thanks to the Four people who entered. Haha.
I actually liked the first one the best... so I took your suggestions, and re-vamped it so that there wasn't really a design behind the writing, making it a little easier to read.
so, Here it is:

So, congratulations Bekah! Go check out the earrings on my website, and find a style you like, let me know what color(s) you want, and send me your address, and I will get some earrings sent to you!

Oh Crappy day...
Ah, it has definitely been one...
I woke up this morning for my dentist appointment, which I thought was at 9, but I get there and realize it wasn't till 10. So I had to sit there for an hour when I could have slept an extra hour.
Then I get in for my filling, they numb me up, and the dentist pokes my tooth, and it hurt so bad I nearly flew out of the chair. It was bad. So he says he thinks it may be infected, but he will give me more local anesthesia and see if that helps. It doesn't. So, he says it is hypersensitive and infected to the root, and I need a root canal. Great. So he gives me a prescription for penicillin and Vicodin, and I go up front to schedule a root canal. Turns out they have to do a crown too.
By this time I am already crying... not only from the whole situation but the fact that I know the root canal is going to cost roughly $500. She gives me the estimate, and because I need a crown too, it is over $1000! So this just makes me start crying harder. geez... I feel like a blubbering idiot. So I schedule my appointment for next monday. (oh joy)
I get to the car and I just break down. I am bawling. I don't exactly know why... Half of my face is numb, my eyes are already red and swollen and I just can't stop crying. So I make it to Walgreens to drop off the prescription. By this time I have managed to stop crying, but it is obvious I was. Then I go to my grandmas house to pick up the spare house key because I dont have one and Josh had both the garage door openers in his truck. She gives me a big hug and tells me she is going to go with me on monday. She is too sweet.
Then I get home, change, grab some food, and go pick up the prescriptions and go to work. I get to work, and I just feel crappy. For some reason I am crampy, and it won't go away, so I take half a vicoden. (a whole one just makes me dizzy and sick to my stomach) So here I am sitting feeling slightly off, a little lightheaded, my eyes still burn, my cramps didn't go away, the numbness is almost gone, but not quite, and my jaw hurts.
I really want to just go crawl into bed. someone come work for me? please?
**Oh yeah..... make sure to check out the post below... it is a contest!**

Diet Day 5 (or is it 6?) =)
So, I have managed to stay faithful on my diet for almost a whole week now! Which for me is pretty much a miracle.
But it is working! I have lost about 5 pounds!
This is so good for me because now I am seeing results and I am motivated! My brother is getting married in 2 weeks, and I am in the wedding, and it would be really nice to lose 10-15 more pounds by then!
Then all the people at the wedding who were at mine last year wouldn't be like "Oh.... she gained weight after they got married!" hehe.
Anyone have and good low-carb food or dessert ideas they would like to share? I would love to try some new foods!
Thanks! and Until next time...

My Website is up!
So, I decided to start a website to show and sell my products!
it is: www.katrinascreations.com
Go over and take a look!
Oh, and we got a new car today! =) It is a 2001 GMC Sonoma, crew cab, 4wd.
Looks like this:

We got a super good deal.. now we just need to sell the Jeep to pay off some of the loan! =)
And... I finally sold the camera I had listed on craigslist! It was a nice camera, just a little too big to carry around. So we went to walmart, because they had one on sale that was a fuji finepix 8.2mp. And we bought it! It was the same price I sold my other one for. hehe. and it was only a 4mp. =) yay! Here is a picture!

Thank God it's Friday!
Seriously... this week has been one of those "Really tiring even though it flew by" type of weeks. Does that make sense? I am just exausted and so glad I get to sleep in tommorrow. I bought some bacon and pepper jack cheese so I can make some yummy omlets for breakfast in the morning.
Oh, did I mention that I am on the low-carb diet? yeah... so I can eat all the bacon and eggs I want. hehe. But seriously. I have been on it for 3 days now, and I am doing good. My brother is getting married on the 25th, and I am in the wedding, so I am trying to stick to no-carb until after then, then I will start slowly adding back in the good carbs like whole grains and fruits and stuff. But I am proud of myself. I have managed to stick with it for 3 days already, and usually I get fed up and give up within the first couple days.
So anyways, tomorrow we are going to sleep in, and then try and get some cleaning and organizing done. Maybe take the dog to the dog park, or the walking trail. Then we have church and bible study tomorrow night.
So yeah, thats the plan! Until next time!
Oh, did I mention that I am on the low-carb diet? yeah... so I can eat all the bacon and eggs I want. hehe. But seriously. I have been on it for 3 days now, and I am doing good. A guest spot!
I snagged a guest spot on Shrew's Daily Shutters!
You should go check it out.
In other news. I just lost all my links and html in my sidebar.... grrr... and I spent like 20 minutes re-entering links, etc. and then it showed an error message when I went to save... and erased them again. So now I am off to try and get them back!
:-p

Flying By...
So this week is flying by. It is probably because I am working 40 hours, and have almost no time at home. I mean, when I am at home, it's doing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning, etc.
So it's Thursday. I started my Pharmacy Tech program on Monday, and I am already done with 5 lessons out of 27. It is slowly getting more and more difficult, and I have a huge respect for my mom and her nursing classes, especially Pharmacology... because learning the names of a bunch of different drugs is freakin hard! Especially when you can't pronounce them! haha. But so far, it is going good. On 5 exams, I have an average of 96%.
Oh yeah, today is :

Hosted by:Sandra!
I didn't really remember it, but I have a pork roast in the crock pot as I write this! Yumm... pulled pork! Remember this post?
So yeah... Thank goodness it is thursday... and tommorrow is friday, then it's the weekend! I am so ready for the weekend!
Until next time...

Do something great!
I have been aware of bone marrow donation for some time, but always thought that to be tested or donate would hurt really bad, or wasn't usually done unless you were family. I was basically just misinformed.
I recently read This Post on the CF husband site that was encouraging people to register for the National Bone Marrow Registry. I never knew it existed!
Well, this month, In honor of Mother's day, from May 5-19, They are offering free registration. It is usually around $55. This covers the cost of the kit, which they can mail to you, and all you have to do is swab the inside of your cheeks with some q-tips. =) There is tons of info on the site, and I would urge you to consider registering to be a donor. You may never get a call, but if you do, you may have the opportunity to save someones life!
As many of you know, Leukemia, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma society is near to my heart because of my mom. She has Leukemia, and although she is "in remission" If she stops taking her medication, or some other things, it could come back full force.
If you don't want to become a donor, consider donating money to either the Bone marrow transplant registry, or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. (There is a link in my sidebar for the walk I am participating in)
You can do something great! so why not do it? =)

School
Well, I did it... I enrolled in a Pharmacy Technician Program through Penn Foster.
Hopefully I can finish it by the end of summer, and pass the Board exam, and get a good paying job! and the best part? The program is cheap, and finance for 0%. =)
Yay! I am excited!
Just had to share!

I love Thunderstorms...
And I am sitting here with the window open as it is raining... Thank God, we need the rain! and every once in a while a nice clap of thunder sounds. I love that sound. I miss the storms in Tennessee.. they were some awesome storms. Except when there was a tornado warning attached. =)
We went snowboarding this morning. 1.5 hours to get there, 1 hour on the slopes, 1.75 hours to get home.... hmm... At least the tickets were free! nah, we got there, and they had 6 or 8 lifts open, we rode up the gondola and got off, and the first little bit, Josh was having a hard time and was getting frustrated, then we got to the beginning of the mountain run which was an intermediate run, and I Wanted to go down it, and Josh didn't, he was frustrated and wanted to just get to the bottom and leave so we kinda had an argument and we were both pissed... So I went down the run, he went up the lift either some other runs, or take the gondola back down. I wasn't sure at the time.
Needless to say I got to the bottom of the run and took my gear to the car and called to find out where he was. He was waiting for the Cable car... he had found a beginner slope and ridden it a few times. He felt bad and apologized, but we ended up leaving. My legs were sore, and he was done. I kinda wish I would have done at least one more run. But oh well. Next season we decided we are going to try and go at least a few times, and maybe if we can swing it get some season passes to Mount Rose, which is a lot closer. (like 45 minutes away)
So, we are going to just hang out for the rest of the day and relax. Until next time!

The past two weeks...
The past two weeks have flown by. literally. I can't believe it's already Friday again. I think it is because my work schedule changed and I don't get Friday off anymore. I used to work 4 days a week and would use my fridays off to clean and catch up on housework and stuff that I now have to fit in after work and on the weekends. I miss my fridays off. But, I like the extra money. =)
Anyways, now it is friday night, and I am sitting home alone. I finished the dishes, poured a glass of wine and put on what not to wear. I love that show. Josh went with some friends to watch Iron Man, because I had no interest in seeing it.
Earlier tonight we went to Adam and Renee's for dinner. It was nice, and good. =) The dogs got their weekly playdate in, and now Stella is crashed out.
Tommorrow we are going up to my parents property to hang out with them and help with some work.
Sunday we are going snowboarding. We keep putting it off, but I swear we are going this time! They are down to 6 lifts open from 12 last weekend, so we are running out of time... and the tickets we have are only good this season!
So that is the plan for the weekend! Hope yours is a great one as well!
Until next time!

Light The Night Walk
I recently Registered for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk Taking place Sept. 30, 2008. I am participating in this event in Honor of my mom, Vicki, who beat Leukemia, and my Cousin Nikki, who is Battling it.
My Personal goal is to raise at least $200 for the society to help find a cure for Leukemia, and my team Goal is $2000.
Here is where you come in! I would love it if you would join my team and help me raise this money, and have fun at the walk with us. (Don’t worry, it isn’t a marathon or anything, just a short causal walk.) It is on Sept. 20, 2008 at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. If you would like to join my team, Click Here!
If you can’t participate, but would like to donate, any amount would be greatly appreciated! You can Click Here to go to my personal fundraising page.
Thanks to everyone, whether you decide to participate, donate, or even if you can’t right now. If you know of anyone who you think might like to participate, feel free to pass this email along!
