Having recently learned how to sew, and as I am getting better, I have thought more about sewing fun baby stuff, including cloth diapers... Which is why I was very excited to get the opportunity to work with Babyville Boutique!

Thymes Review

I like to smell good. Don't we all? So I was really excited to get the chance to review some Products from Thymes

I was so excited to receive 2 boxes of fun goodies! I chose the kimono rose scent because I had smelled it once before, and loved it! (and it reminded me of a perfume I had when I was in high school that I absolutely loved but could never find anything similar!)

They sent me a perfume, body wash, hand soap and lotion set and a room spray. I have to say, I love them all! My favorite though is the body wash! Most nice bodywashes that you get because you like the scent don't leave any scent when you get out of the shower, but this one does! After you get out, you can smell a slight scent that is just enough, and not overpowering! The perfume is nice too, and not too overpowering. But you only need one spray for a nice light scent, which means it will last a long time! The room spray smells nice, but I don't notice it when I come back into the room after a little while, which is kind of a bummer, but it smells nice after you spray it! I would definitely be interested in trying the candle though!

Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the products I received from Thymes, and I would recommend them to anyone!

Chewbeads Review and Giveaway!

Ellie is fascinated by jewelry. Anytime I wear any necklace, she is constantly wanting to grab it, play with it, and chew on it. That makes it hard to wear jewelry sometimes! Not with Chewbeads!
Chewbeads are non-toxic jewelry for moms that are safe for babies to tug on, touch and chew!

The idea for Chewbeads began in 2009 shortly after the birth of my son. Like most babies, he loved to put everything in his mouth and my necklaces were a favorite. Like most moms, I didn't feel comfortable letting him chew on them, with concern that they might break or have unwanted chemicals. As a veteran of the fashion industry, I had an amazing collection of necklaces and bracelets, so with those as my inspiration, I set out to create soft, non-toxic jewelry, which was colorful, chic and, above all else safe. Hence, Chewbeads!

Beads are made with 100% silicone (similar to pacifiers & nipples)
Soft on babies gums and emerging teeth
Easily cleaned with dish soap & water, also dishwasher safe!
No BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Cadmium, or Lead
Necklaces have a breakaway clasp for added safety
Necklaces are a great sensory tool to help your baby focus while nursing
Bracelets are a colorful reminder of which side you've just nursed

Chewbeads sent me the Jane necklace in brown. My daughter loves it! She has been teething and I can wear this and not worry about her chewing on it, and it looks nice too!

I would definitely recommend these to any mom with a baby!

Go to Chewbeads and check them out! Chewbeads has also generously offered one of my readers the necklace or bracelet of your choice! Enter on the rafflecopter form below!

Simple Green Review and Giveaway!

I was recently sent a bottle of the Simple Green All purpose cleaner concentrate to review!

"Over 30 years ago, concentrated Simple Green® All-Purpose Cleaner was formulated for the industrial marketplace… but it kept finding its way back home! Customer satisfaction, loyalty and demand have since put the Simple Green “family” of popular convenient sizes in retail stores nationwide!

The makers of Simple Green have spent over $3 million to verify the safety claims and unique formulation. Concentrated Simple Green had it right from the start. From floors and walls to pots and pans, from windows to sinks and drains, even greasy tools, it only takes a little Simple Green to get big jobs done around the house.

Simple Green is one of the most versatile all-purpose cleaners you can buy! It’s non-toxic and biodegradable, without harmful bleach. Because it is a concentrate, you can custom dilute Simple Green to clean just about anything dirty. It replaces most cleaners, detergents, degreasers and laundry pre-soaks you're using now!

I really like the All purpose cleaner. It has worked well on everything I have tried it all, and I was surprised to see all the things I could use it for! I love that it is non toxic and I don't have to worry about it when cleaning in areas that my kids will come in contact with! I am definitely going to have to try it in my laundry! Especially on those tough kids stains!

I have also tried a lot of the Simple Green Naturals Products, and absolutely love them as well!

I was recently sent a fleece pullover for Ellie from iplaybabywear.com to review!

I Have to say, it is so cute and soft, that I want one for myself!

From their site:
Founded in 1982, i play. focuses on values that prioritize protecting our children and the Earth. Our company has always been about doing the best thing, the right thing for babies. We are committed to leadership in continually learning about product materials and potential health and safety issues concerning these materials. In 2003 we discovered the use of PVC in baby products. We researched and educated ourselves about the dangers of PVC and ensured that all of our products were PVC-free. In 2006 we learned about similar concerns over BPA, a petroleum-based hormone disrupter, and quickly eliminated it from our green sprouts® products. Now we are researching petroleum-free materials and other healthy ways to take care of babies and toddlers.

Some choices we offer include materials that encourage healthy development from the inside and the outside:

Inside

• Natural, non-petroleum materials such as plant starch, plant fiber, wood, and cotton

• Non-petroleum materials such as glass, silicone and stainless steel

• BPA-free plastics such as Polypropylene (PP)

Outside

• Natural fibers such as cotton and plant-based non-wovens

• Organic cotton which promotes sustainable farming

• PVC-free waterproof materials such as EVA and polyurethane coated polyesters and nylon

• Sun protective fabrics of UPF 50+

• Flexible and breathable fabrics for active play

Our products undergo extensive testing and conform to all US ASTM, FDA and CPSIA standards. We believe it is a company's responsibility to monitor the quality and safety of their products.
We design our products in Asheville, NC and work with independently-owned factories in China, Thailand, Korea and Taiwan. We adhere to fair labor and environmentally-responsible standards.
We know that parents’ needs for their children are varied, so we’re always looking for choices to help make parenting easier and more fun. That is why we make baby-friendly i play.® and green sprouts® products for little ones.

Tag-A-Long Review and Giveaway!

Before I had My second baby, Ellie, I bought a double stroller thinking I would use that the majority of the time. What I didn't realize is that it didn't fit in my car! So I ended up only using it once or twice and either carrying or wearing the baby.
Well, now that my "baby" is getting bigger and is a lot more independent an walking, I needed a new plan.
I was sent a tag-a-long just in time! Ellie does pretty well in the small stroller, and Jack loves to walk with me holding onto the stroller. But I was always tripping over him because he would want to help push, or would just walk in my way.
But, I finally got the chance to try the tag-a-long (as in I finally didn't forget it!) and it was awesome! Jack loves it! He wants to hold on, and loves that it is his. He gets mad if I start walking and he isn't holding on yet. It keeps him far enough away from me that I am not tripping over him, and because he has something to hold on to he isn't constantly trying to push with me!

I wish I would have gotten this sooner! I think it will be great to attach to the shopping cart in the store since he hasn't been wanting to sit in the cart anymore either.
If you have two kids (or even an independent toddler who doesn't want a stroller) I would highly recommend the tag-a-long!

The tag*a*long was designed, developed, and manufactured in the USA by a mom and dad design duo from Philadelphia, PA. I like that it is made in the USA!
It can be used on your diaper bag, rolling luggage, strollers, shopping carts, anything you can think of! It is super easy to put on and take off too! And, it fits nicely in a diaper bag or purse!

Want to get one for yourself? Head over to www.tagalongkids.com and check them out! They are only $9.99, which I think is a great deal!

Or, you can win one! Tag-a-long has graciously offered one of my readers a tag-a-long of their own! Enter using the rafflecopter form below!

fast-growing-trees.com Review and giveaway!

When we bought our house, I was really excited to finally have a yard where I could plant whatever I wanted. I knew I always wanted some kind of berry bushes, so I was excited when fast-growing-trees.com offered to send me a thornless blackberry bush!

I love blackberries, but was skeptical to get a bush because of the little ones we have... wouldn't want them to fall into thorns! So when I saw they had a thornless variety, I was thrilled!

It was shipped and arrived very quickly via fed-ex. I was really curious how it would arrive. It came in a box that had a special cutout to allow for the pot, and to keep it from falling around in the box.

It is a good size too. It is just a single stock right now, but it is about 2 feet tall, so I am sure once we plant it, it will grow fairly quickly. =) I can't wait for spring!

This is from their site:
"The trees we sell have been selected according to the highest of standards. We have taken into account not only the growth rate of a given tree, but all the other elements that make a tree truly desirable. We have searched out a variety of fast-growing cultivars that offer such benefits as drought tolerance, disease resistance, adaptability to soil and growing conditions, and tolerance to weather, pollution, and climate.

We deliver trees all across the country... so whether you're looking for Florida trees, Texas trees, California trees, trees for any other state, we make sure that your new trees arrive in great condition.

We want your landscape to look as vibrant as possible, which is why we provide you with mature, developed trees. They can be up to several years older than shade trees at other nurseries... so they are low-maintenance and faster growing."

They have a great looking site, and lots of great looking plants and trees! I will definitely look to them first if I am wanting to plant anything else! They were very friendly and helpful, and have quick shipment!

So if you are wanting to plant anything this year, check out www.fast-growing-trees.com first!

Fast Growing Trees is also giving you the chance to win a Meyer Lemon Tree! I am jealous! haha. Enter on the Rafflecopter form below!

Cureology Review!

I was recently sent the Cureology Color care shampoo and re-conditioner to try out. I had heard of cureology before, but have never tried it.

So besides giving to charity, why should you use cureology?

Cureology is free of sulfates, sodium chloride, aluminum, paraben, synthetic fragrances, carcinogens, neurotoxics, glycols, phthalates, chelating agents, SLS & SLES, ureas, PVP, Acrelates, formaldehyde, DEA, dioxins, petrochemicals, chlorphenesin, FD&C or D&C, benzyl alcohol, DMDM, chemical sunscreens and triclosan!

Cureology products are 100% Natural!
They are green and sustainable, Organic, Natural, renewable, vegan, ultra-purified water, antioxidants, anti-aging and essential oils. They use all natural botanicals and vitamins, are post consumer recyclable, cruelty free and earth friendly!

So, how do they work?
I think they work great! My hair felt clean and soft, and was very manageable and not tangled after I got out of the shower. I really like them! The only thing I wasn't super crazy about was the scent. I thought the shampoo smelled a little like a men's scent. But, the conditioner smelled better, and I didn't get out of the shower smelling like a man, so that's good!

Want to check it out for yourself? Head over to Cureology!

Something about Silver Review and Giveaway!

I was so excited to work with Something about Silver on a review and giveaway. After Jack was born, I got a necklace with his name on it, but haven't been able to get one with Ellie's name on it.

When they said they would make a piece for me, I was really excited to see what they would come up with! And I was definitely not disappointed! The necklace came packaged very nicely, and had it been a gift, I wouldn't even have had to wrap it! It was in a simple brown box with a pretty ribbon tied around it. Then I opened it and saw this:

Isn't that beautiful?!? The quality is great, and I have gotten lots of compliments on it! I would definitely order from Something about Silver again! They have such a great selection of jewelry!

And here's the best part! They have generously offered one lucky reader a $40 gift certificate to their store! Enter using the rafflecopter form below!

Nurturme Review and giveaway!

Traveling with containers of baby food can be difficult. If you get the plastic containers, they can get crushed. or the glass ones can break. And who even knows what they use to preserve them...But now, thanks to NurturMe, you can have delicious, nutritious on the go baby food that you are in control of!

NurturMe is a revolutionary new type of baby food! Certified-organic, it is all natural and gluten free and made from nutrient rich fruit and veggies which are quick dried. So why is quick drying important? By quick drying ingredients, NuturMe is able to preserve the essential nutrients found in fruits and veggies! This makes it one of the most natural and nutritious baby food on the market! What mom doesn't like that? NurturMe allows you to customize your baby's feeding because you are in control! You can mix the pouches of NurturMe with breast milk, whole milk, formula, water and even other foods to create the right combination for your little one! It is approved for babies four months to four years and has no added salts, sugars, colors or preservatives!

Nurturme sent me a sample pack to try, and I love the concept! They were great for traveling to my parents house, and Ellie seemed to enjoy them. I think that the quick drying method makes the flavor quite a bit stronger than the jarred baby food, which may be off putting to some babies (though you can mix them differently or mix with cereal to cut the flavor some.) But, despite the strong flavor, Ellie still liked it, and I liked the convenience!

NurturMe comes in a variety of flavors which include Plump Peas, Scrumptious Squash, Crisp Apples, Hearty Sweet Potatoes, and now two fantastic new flavors - Sweet Bananas and Crunchy Carrots! NurturMe comes in a box of 8 meal pouches which makes 8 servings and retails for a suggested prize of $9.49. To find out more about NurturMe and where to buy it, be sure to visit their website.

Nurturme is giving one of my readers the chance to win a Medium gift pack! Just enter on the rafflecopter form below!

Pur Minerals Review and giveaway!

I recently was given the chance to try the new Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation With SPF 15. Pur Minerals sent me the Pür Minerals 5-Piece Start Now Kit, and I have to say I am impressed!

From the Site:
"Lots of makeup can make you look pretty, but how many can improve clarity or diminish the look of fine lines? More than just a get-the-look kit, Start Now! is an expressway to a naturally flawless complexion. In an eight-week clinical study, women of all ages saw an improvement in their skin’s appearance after using this five-piece kit. Up to 89 percent saw a smoother, softer appearance while 75 percent experienced visibly less irritation than before."

This portable perfection makeup kit includes:
4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup (.15 oz): Loose powders are so last year. Combining pure mineral pigment with the finest skin care ingredients, our all-in-one foundation, concealer, powder and SPF 15 has inspired generations of women to forget the mess and go pressed.

Neutral Primer (.3 fl oz): While most primers create the illusion of a more uniform complexion, our skin correcting formula contains special key ingredients that minimize the look of pores, dark spots and fine lines for a truly flawless makeup canvas.

Mineral Glow (.12 oz): Combining premium quality minerals with proven firming ingredients, Mineral Glow gives skin a natural-looking touch of sun with added skin care benefits.

Chisel Brush: Designed specifically for our 4-in-1 formula, this cruelty-free total coverage brush delivers an effortlessly even application every time. Also works with Pür specialty powders.

I think my favorites in the pressed powder and the mascara. Finding good mascara is hard, and this stuff is great! Here are some before and after pictures...

Madii and Dyl Review

When Jack wanted to start sleeping with a pillow, I was a little leery.... All the pillows we had were adult sized pillows, and while I was sure he would do fine with them, there was that nagging thought in the back of my head. Not to mention his little neck... big pillows just aren't made for little necks.

So, I was really excited when I found out that Madii & Dyl products were available in the US, and I was going to get to review some! They sent me the Luxe Latex Teenii Tot Pillow for Jack to try out.

Their pillows are made from 100% certified organic latex, and contain no chemicals, are hypoallergenic and naturally resistant to dust mites, mildew and bacteria. Designed for comfort, its softness, support and innovative design makes it the superior choice in children's bedding. All pillows come with polyester pillow protector and pure cotton pillow case.

I love that it comes with a pillow protector and case... That makes it so much easier than trying to find or make a case to fit! And it is zippered, so it doesn't slide around and come off very easily. I also love that it is resistant to dust mites, mildew and bacteria... I mean who wants that in their kids bed? anything that keeps that stuff at bay is a plus in my book!

And Jack loves it! And what's more important than that? =)

Madii & Dyl also sent me a Luxe Cleansing Flannel.

"Super-soft when wet, its silky texture and high absorbency is perfect on delicate areas. It cleans without wetting or scratching fragile skin and dries without stripping moisture. Safe on babies' peeling skin or soft skull, it is ideal for eczema, cradle cap and other problem skin conditions. Works hand in hand with cosmetic treatments as it cleanses the skin without wetting the bandages or spoiling the bruised areas which are sore to touch.

Made from eco-friendly materials, the flannel is air-spun and porous free. To clean, the flannel can be hand washed in warm soapy water or in a machine at 40°. Hardens when dry to prevent bacteria but regains its silky soft feel when wet."

I love how soft and gentle on the skin this is!

Want to check out Madii & Dyl for yourself? Head on over! They offer different size pillows for babies and children, along with the cleansing flannels.

Christmas Cards!

I don't know about you, but one thing I love about the holidays is making up a Christmas card to send out to family and friends.

For months before Christmas, I am checking out the latest styles and designs and trying to decide what I want our family card to look like. I love ones with pictures! I love getting them too, because then after Christmas, I take all the photo cards, cut out the pictures and keep them on my fridge. =)

Last year I got my Christmas cards from TinyPrints.com and I loved them! This year I am so excited to get to work with them again! They have great quality cards, and the service is amazing! Here are a few I am looking at...

Be Merry

Merry Modest

Jazzy Christmas

Those are just a few, but there are tons to choose from! It is definitely going to be a hard choice with all the new designs this year!

What do you do for Christmas cards? If you are looking for a high quality card at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Tiny Prints!

Milk Nursingwear Review and giveaway!

I recently got the opportunity to work with Milk Nursingwear! Being a nursing mom, it can be so hard to be discreet when trying to nurse in public. So, finding cute nursing clothes is always a plus!

From Their site:
We design fresh, modern clothing for nursing moms and sell chic nursing accessories as well. Our brand is truly unique. What sets Milk apart is our sense of fashion and style, and our committment to supporting all moms through breastfeeding and motherhood.

I am the founder of Milk and the mother of four beautiful breastfed children.

My inspiration for Milk came after the birth of my first daughter in 1997. Early on I was introduced to the concept of nursingwear. While I loved the discretion and ease that nursing clothing provided, I did not love the dowdy styling. I wanted to feel attractive and fashionable and believed my clothing should reflect that.

So in June 2000, armed with entrepreneurial spirit, my MBA, experience as a Bloomingdale's buyer and a Marketing Manager, I realized my vision by launching a line of fashion-forward nursingwear. After seven successful years of running that company and bringing fashionable nursingwear to women the world over, I am doing it again now with Milk - better than ever before.

Milk sent me this Sleeveless babydoll nursing top to try. I really like it. It is a tiny bit too small for me at the moment (hopefully that will change soon!) but I like the look of it, and how easy it is to nurse and be discreet.
(the shirt doesn't seem to run small at all, I am just a little bigger that size which I knew when ordering...)

Milk Nursingwear is giving one of my lucky readers a chance to win a $40 Gift certificate to their site! I am using rafflecopter for this giveaway, so please enter below, and good luck!

DomyownPestControl.com Review

Now that we own our own home, we have to figure out our own pest control. I hate bugs. Any kind of bug. especially ants. luckily we haven't had a huge ant problem. But we do have an abnormal amount of earwigs. **shudder** Those things creep me out big time.

so, needless to say I was really happy when I recently got the chance to work with Domyownpestcontrol.com on a review!

From their site:
"We all have pest problems and are in need of solutions that work. Do My Own Pest Control has been helping people control pest infestations for years. We know this industry and have the right pest control products and supplies to enable people to get rid of pests on their own, without having to pay a pest control company costly services.

Do My Own Pest Control is based on the principle of saving you money. Our goal is to provide you with the solutions that professional pest control companies and exterminators use, but at a fraction of the cost. We have everything you need from products for rodent control and roach control to glyphosate herbicide. We even carry a wide selection of natural and organic pest control products!
"

I was really impressed by the selection of products and the quick service! They sent me the Flies be gone fly trap and the Eco PCO WP-x powder. The fly trap got to me just in time for our 4th of July bbq. It was really easy to use, though it smelled pretty bad. They say to put it 35-40 feet away from the house, but we couldn't get it that far, so we got whiffs of it every once in a while... but holy moly did it work! We haven't had any fly problems since we put it up, and the thing is full of flies!
I haven't had a chance to try the powder yet since i don't have a spray bottle for it, but it looks like it has some good reviews, and I can't wait to get a bottle so I can use it! I love that it is safe for use around kids and pets. And I love that it will get rid of those darn earwigs!

Overall, I highly recommend Domyownpestcontrol.com! I think it is great that they offer free pest control advice and free shipping! If you are looking for quality affordable pest control solutions, be sure to check them out!
