Hey all,
sorry I have been bad with updating lately. I Had last weekend off, and our friends came out to visit. We pretty much just hung out and relaxed all weekend, and did a little shopping.
Then I worked mon-wed, had yesterday and today off, and I spent time getting stuff done, cleaning, running errands, etc.
Josh left today to go to Wonder-con. It is a big comic book convention in San Francisco... Yes, my husband is a big nerd. ;-)
So, last night I was laying in bed, and totally started feeling the baby kick... It was so wierd and so cool at the same time! It wasn't like the light flutters that I had felt before, but it felt like pokes from the inside. =)
In all, I am feeling well... other than stressing over finances and trying to find ways to cut expenses. ( I really hate living paycheck to paycheck, and that is what we've been doing for a long time now...)
I am off now to go enjoy some decaf snickerdoodle coffee and some oatmeal craisin cookies I just pulled out of the oven. (seriously, if you are a coffee drinker, check out those roasters. We used to get our coffee from them when we owned our coffee shop, and they have the best coffee! I LOVE the snickerdoodle!)
Have a good weekend all! (I get to work...yippee!) :-p

Tagged! (and a few answers)
Sarah tagged me to list the things I love that start with the letter "C." So, here goes!
Chocolate! (of course!)

Cats

Caffeine

Creativity

Christmas!

Comments

Coconut

Cards

Cheese (especially gouda and brie!)

Corn

Cookies

Chivalry

Chinese food

Camping

Ok, I think that's enough, though I am sure I could keep going...
Now for the few questions that were asked of me...
Vintage Dutch Girl asked: What was your most embarrassing moment?
I really am not sure... I know I have had a lot of them though... There was one time when I was in High school, and We were at youth group, and there was this guy that I really liked. My friend and I were messing around, and she started chasing me... I took off running, and ran around a corner, slipped and fell hard... right in front of my crush. That was pretty embarrassing at the time. I embarrass myself all the time now, usually just by saying stupid things. =)
Sarah asked: What is your favorite thing about being pregnant so far?
I would have to say the ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat. That was so neat! And of course, feeling movement, even if it isn't much yet. I can't wait until I can feel the baby moving all the time! And actually feel kicks. =)
Any more questions?
*Oh, and we decided we aren't going to find out the sex of the baby... =) And the names we have picked out are Jack Patrick or Kaelyn Michelle.*

Husbby Hack
In honor of Valentine's Day I've decided to hack Katrina's blog and post her a little note. Not the most romantic thing, but still sweet right? OK those of you who get nauseous at mushy talk may want to skip the rest of this post. Well here it goes:
Katrina,
Hi babe! OK I'll keep this short (that's what she said). I'm so very honored to be able to call you my wife. I never thought I'd be married to such a beautiful person. Both in side and out(especially out ;-) ) your the prettiest girl I've ever known. I really can't wait to see what kind of kid ours will be. You've taken care of me with lots of love I know you'll be a GREAT mom.
I just wanted to say I love you. This is my way of shouting it out for the world to hear. I love you sweetheart and am so lucky that your my Valentine!
Love Josh

Heartbeat! (16 weeks)
Got to hear (and record!) the heartbeat today! Nice and healthy. And I think baby kicked at the doppler when the nurse was looking for the heartbeat, because she was looking for it, and you hear a kind of thump sound and she was all "woah, did you feel that?" I didn't, but still thought it was pretty funny!

The promised update...
It has been a crazy week!
Last weekend we went to some friend's wedding in Redding, CA. We dove up there Friday, and Josh had to be ready to take pictures at 4. After he met up with his friend, I checked into my room at the college (I graduated from Simpson University, and they rent rooms out in the dorms for cheap) then went and stopped in to chat with some people who work there, and got a code for the internet, then went back to the room, got ready and headed over to the rehearsal. After the rehearsal, we all went to a pizza place (where the bride and groom first met.)
The next morning we (my friend Rachael stayed with me, Josh was with all the guys) were up early, and got ready for the wedding, which started at 11.
It was a nice ceremony, and it was fun spending time with friends.

After the wedding we spent the evening with our friends, went out to dinner, went to the hotel where the couple were staying and decorated their car (they hadn't done it during the reception) then went out to one of the indian casinos where my friend urged me to play some blackjack, and I turned my $10 into $20! =)
We stayed the night at one of Josh's friend's house, and it was great meeting his family, and some of Josh's friends I hadn't met before.
The next morning we got up and went to Clay (the groom's) parents house where Clay and Dea came, and we all ate breakfast and they opened their gifts. Then we headed home!
I worked Monday and Tuesday, then my parents came over Tuesday night, and took us out to dinner, and we hung out, then the next morning we went and did some shopping and had lunch before they left to go home. Then I went and got a haircut, then went with my friend Yung to look at wedding dresses! (she is getting married in October) =)
Today was an ok day. It was busy at work, and I made a mistake, and my boss got mad (even though he, the pharmacist, checked it through and didn't catch my mistake...) and everybody was tense and in a bad mood for a while, but by afternoon everyone had cooled off and things got better.
I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow, and I will get to hear the heartbeat again! I am going to try and record it this time. =) Then I plan on cleaning and getting stuff done tomorrow before we go to Adam and Renee's for dinner. Then I work all weekend! (ooh, yay!)
Sorry for the long post!

Movement!
So, I am now 15 weeks pregnant! That's almost 4 months! =) And last night, I felt flutters, which I am pretty sure was the baby moving!
According to babyzone.com...
At week 15, your baby-to-be stretches her limbs and bends at her elbows. She's getting big enough that you can feel many of these movements. This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange. Her bones are continuing to grow and lengthen. While she looks more like a baby, her skin is still thin and translucent with her veins visible. Your baby is also beginning to grow lanugo, a very fine hair. It will keep growing until around the 26th gestational week of pregnancy (that's week 28 of your pregnancy).
How Big Is Baby?
This week your baby is roughly the size of a small apple or orange.
Pregnancy Brain
Dropped anything lately? Tripped over nothing? Forget something you always remember—like the date? You may be experiencing a common complaint in pregnancy—scatterbrain. "Some of my patients call it 'placenta brain,'" says Dr. Joanne Motino Bailey, PhD, a certified nurse-midwife and a professor of women's studies at the University of Michigan. While there are no studies to support the existence of pregnancy scatterbrain, notes Dr. Bailey, there are some changes in your body which may account for your sudden clumsiness.
I have definitely been having pregnancy brain. I was bad enough before I got pregnant. I went to the post office today to mail my swap package, and realized when I got to the counter that I had forgotten to write the addresses on it. Doh! And that is only one example!
Anyways, I work the next two days, then we are driving up to Redding, CA for a wedding on friday... so you may not hear from me again until after this weekend, but If you have any questions for me, as I posted in a previous blog, ask away, and I will try and answer them! =)
Have a great weekend!

Wifey Wednesdays Blog Tour!
I know I haven't participated much, but today is wifey wednesday, put on by Sheila over at To Love Honor and Vaccuum!
I know that I often have a problem feeling "intimate" or "in the mood"... as I am sure most women do. (Especially now that I am pregnant!)
This is the main topic that Sheila addresses in her book, Honey I Don't Have a Headache Tonight.
Here is the synopsis from her website:
"He says, "you’re never in the mood." She says, "There’s no romance; what do you expect?" It’s a conflict as old as time. We’re told "opposites attract" and we’ve seen it in action, but given time and circumstance, what once lured you in, can quickly lure you out.
When it comes to marriage and the issue of sex, there are two opinions and mind-sets and all too often neither give much ground. It’s an emotionally challenging, physically driven dilemma that brings with it frustration, hurt feelings, anger, and even disrespect.
Women wonder why men were created with the switch always turned on, and men wonder why women were created with so many different switches and no instruction manual.
Romance. Intimacy. Sex. They are not the same thing, although they definitely go together and complete the "big picture." Men equate sex as their currency to feeling loved, while women need the emotional aspect to feel loved – two very different needs and therein lays the problem.
Filled with humor and practical advice, Sheila tackles these issues:
o How change in the sexual relationship requires change elsewhere.
o Why sex for women is often a "head thing."
o How television is the biggest enemy to intimacy.
o Why forgiveness and letting go of the need to be right is so important.
o How self-image issues and past hurts can throw intimacy into a tailspin.
o The repercussions of everyday energy zappers.
o The threats to Godly sexuality.
o The roadblocks of respect.
o
The cultural attacks on gender. "
Check out her website if you get a chance!

Pray for Cynthia...
Spoiled Mommy posted a blog today over on Cynthia (Yummy_Mummy)'s blog... here is an excerpt:
"Cynthiaa was due to deliver her son in just 2 weeks. But today when she went to her routine doctor’s appointment she learned that her beautiful baby boy had passed away due to umbilical cord strangulation.
Cynthiaa is now on her way to have a c section where afterwards she will get to spend time with her beautiful baby Aiden.
You can imagine how hard this is going to be on her...
Please keep Cynthiaa and baby Aiden in your prayers and send lots of love her way."
I can't even imagine the pain she is going through... please keep her in your prayers!
