Sledding!

We took Jack out to a little hill at a local school today to see how he would like sledding. He isn't too comfortable with walking in the snow, so we were hoping he would enjoy it, and he did! He didn't like when we put him in the snow at first, but towards the end he was doing good!
I was able to get some good pictures, and I had to share!

It's gonna be a hard month...

For all of us. Josh started a second part time temp job last night. It was an opportunity that he was offered, and the pay made it worth the extra work. At the end of the month we will have a nice chunk in savings and he will probably have a motorcycle.

But, it's going to be rough. For him, obviously, because he will be working 12-ish hour days. For Jack, because he won't be seeing his daddy very much. And for me, because that means that I am almost like a weekday single parent...

I know there are lots of families who do this every day, and I applaud you. I think under normal circumstances it would be a little easier, but being 7 1/2 months pregnant, closing on a house in 3 weeks and trying to get things packed, and trying to keep the house clean and make meals every day... I am just exhausted!

I know it is definitely worth it, and hopefully it won't be as bad as I am expecting... and at least we still have the weekends!

Sleep Talking

*This is a real conversation that took place between Josh and I last night... We had gone to bed about 10-15mins earlier*

Josh (rolls over and rubs my back)
Me "huh"
Josh "The dogs won't stop talking"
Me "What?"
Josh "The dogs won't stop talking!"
Me (ignore him and roll back over, obvious he is sleep talking...)
A minute later...
Josh (rolls over and hits my arm)
Me "What?"
Josh "Make the dogs stop talking!"
me (laugh, and try to go back to sleep)
Another Minute later...
Josh rolls over and in a huff, "Stupid dogs..."

Do you have any funny sleep talking stories?

A day at the River

After having fun at the river on the 4th of July (but only staying for about half an hour) we decided to go back yesterday! And we invited Adam and Renee to go with us.

It was nice and hot, and the water was nice and cool (and next time I am definitely bringing a bathing suit!)

Ooohhh.... watermelon! Can I have some daddy?

He loves watermelon!

Renee with Darren

He kept kissing the starfish face on his floatie!

smile!

splash splash...

Happy boys!

And he was pooped! He fell asleep in the car right after we left, slept through me taking him out at the store, putting him back in, then taking him out to go in the house... We have a hilarious video of him waking up... I will post it as soon as I can get youtube to work. =)

Our 4th of July

Yesterday we got up, hung out at home for a while, then went to the local fair (which wasn't anything big, and not much fun when you have no money!) Then we went down to check out a spot we had seen at the river that looked good for swimming. Josh and Jack swam for a little bit, and Jack loved it! Then, after we left the river, we went to our friend's for a little bbq dinner, and then went to watch the fireworks! Jack liked the fireworks too! Anyways, It was a fun day!

Here are a bunch of pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Jack was putting on Josh's hat and crawling around laughing... it was hilarious! I got a video but youtube is not cooperating, so it will have to wait!

playing with his red and blue diapers I pulled out for the day!

Toes in the sand for the first time!

First dip in the river

Loving the water!

I love this picture! Such a sweet moment!
