weekend update =)

Well, we are still at my parents house. It has been a nice relaxing few days. We have done a lot of shopping, and I am just about done with my christmas shopping!
I have been feeling some waves of nausea, so I am assuming the morning sickness has begun. Hopefully It won't get too bad. =)
Tomorrow we are heading up to Sacramento to hang out with some friends before we head home. That should be fun.
I am ready to get home though and clean up, put up christmas decorations and cook the turkey that is in my fridge. =)

Happy Thanksgiving!

MySpace Comments: Chromaluna.com

We are in Manteca, at my parents house. =) I am so glad I get to spend the weekend with my family. I hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving !

**Update on yesterdays news: I had a blood test, and it confirmed that I am 4-5 weeks pregnant! Yay!!! What a great Thanksgiving gift!

Good news!

First off, I want to apologize to those of you who I said "there is no way I am pregnant, I just had a pap!"

Apparently I was wrong, and you all were right, because I just took a test and I am pregnant!

I told Josh and he was all "that explains it!" Haha. I have been an emotional wreck all week, nauseous again last night (and this morning!)

So yeah... I may take another test just to make sure seeing as how I got the tests at the dollar store. ;-) Hehe. But yeah! yay!

Bloggy award! And a better day...

So last night I had an emotional melt down. I laid in bed in Josh's arms and just cried. I needed it. It felt good. I love that he just holds me when I am like that. Then he texts me today to see how work is going, and to tell me he loves me and is praying for me. I am so blessed.

Today is going better. The morning was a bit tense, and my boss made a few comments. ( Why can I never please him?) But as the day has gone on, it has gotten a little better. I am on my lunch break right now.
Thanks for all your prayers and kind works, they truly mean a lot. I feel like I have so many good friends, and I wish I could meet you all in person!

On to the award! Mrs. Prep-E Girl gave me an award!

According to the rules...

This award is supposed to be passed on to people who:
inspire you
make you laugh and smile
is a great read
or feels like a kindred spirit!

I will update tonight with my lovely recipients. I am heading back to work now! Thanks Erin!!!

One crappy day to another...

Ok, so I feel better today. At least physically. =)

Then I got to work. Today was terrible at work. We were busy. I got snapped at. People acted immature.
Then my boss got there, lectured us all, was in a pissy mood all day. I almost cried several times. Guess my emotions are on overdrive. I was ready to walk out and quit today. I am looking for another job as soon as I finish this post. (as if I haven't already been for a while...)

So yeah. The stress level at work has gotten to the point where I just can't stand to be there. If we could financially swing it, I would quit tomorrow.

(oh and for the few of you who think I am pregnant... I don't know. I had a pap smear last monday, and I think if I was pregnant enough to be in the morning sickness stage, my gyno would have realized it... I'm just sayin'!)

Thanks for all your well wishes yesterday, and if you could pray for my sanity! Or that Josh gets a job offer in California soon!

Bleh

I a sick.

I started feeling nauseous last night, but was fine when I went to bed. I was fine when I woke up, but by the time I got to work I was not feeling too hot.

I ended up leaving work after 3 1/2 hours. I had thrown up once, and was pretty much worthless. So aside from making dinner, since I have been home I have been laying on the couch all day. (or in bed) (and no, my hubby didn't ask me to make dinner... I had a period of feeling better and decided to...) =)

So hopefully I will get a good night's sleep tonight and feel better tomorrow, because I am working through wednesday before I have thanksgiving and the two days after off! =)

Ask Katrina Answers!

Ok, I have been meaning to post this, but kept forgetting. So anyways, here ya go!

Lindsey asked...

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
If I could take my whole family, I would love to live in Ireland. =)

How did you and your husband meet?

We actually met in college. He was my roomate's boyfriend's best friend. He only went there for a year, and we weren't really friends, but we knew each other. He left, I graduated college a year later, and one day while working at a boring desk job, I was looking through my myspace friends (he had been on my friend's list since college) and saw his profile, and he had his AIM name on there, and I sent him an IM because he was online, and we started talking (he was at a job where he was on the computer too.) we talked for a couple months online, then I flew out to TN where he was living, and we started dating new years day of 2006. I went home from that trip knowing he was the one, and I moved from CA to TN 4 months later, and we got married a little over a year later! =)

Where do you want to be in 5 years?
I want to be a mom, and if at all possible, a stay at home one. =) The rest is details! (Oh, but living back in California would be ideal!)

Sweetassbabs asked...

I second the where did you meet your hubby question. (see above)

What are the names you have picked out for your future baby?? One boy name and one girl name please.
Joshua David (after the hubs) and we will call him JD. And my girl will be Kaelyn Grace. =)

What is the name of the boy you first kissed?? Where and when did it happen??
First boy I kissed (like a real kiss) was my first boyfriend, David, when I was 16. The funny part is that the first "real" kiss happened several months after he dumped me for my best friend, and after she dumped him... in an apple orchard at a youth group event... I was so naive and thought I was in love....

What is a favorite meal you and your husband both love?
Josh says Tri-tip, my enchiladas or pulled pork. (mccormick makes an awesome slow cooker pulled pork seasoning packet. Best we've found out west!)

What is your favorite book?

I love so many! I love any book by Beverly Lewis. She writes fictional books that take place in the Amish community. Makes me want to go live with an amish family for a few weeks! haha.

Favorite TV show?
America's Next Top Model! Haha. We also love The Big Bang Theory (seriously it's on monday nights... If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it!) and The Office.

Any more Questions? This was fun!

Ask Katrina!

So a lot of people have done this, and I have been meaning to, but keep forgetting. =) This is your chance to ask me questions! What do you want to know about me? Just post a comment or email me and I will post the answers in a future post!

I will leave you with a picture of my dog who obviously didn't want me working on my computer tonight... ;-) (sorry for the bad lighting... It was my camera phone)

compassion

First off, because I know you all are wondering. I took the pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. But, I think I just took it too early, so I will take one again in a few days if nothing changes. =)

So yesterday I finally signed up to sponsor a child through Compassion international. I have been meaning to for quite a while now, but just haven't sat down and done it. We are in between churches right now, and I want to be able to still give monetarily, and I used to sponsor a child, but had to stop when I financially couldn't continue. So I am definitely excited about being able to start again!
I picked this little guy:

Isn't he just too cute! He has been on the waiting list for a while, and I wanted to choose a child who has been waiting. =) His name is Walter, he is 5 years old and he lives in Peru with his mother and three siblings. He just stood out to me because he was the only kid who had a big grin on their face. =)

Anyways, I better go finish some dishes before I have to head to work. Have a great wednesday!

Honor

Today is Veterans Day. Take a moment to stop and remember those who gave their lives and served our country. Thank a veteran today.
Veteran’s Day Tribute

When America had an urgent need,
These brave ones raised a hand;
No hesitation held them back;
They were proud to take a stand.

They left their friends and family;
They gave up normal life;
To serve their country and their God,
They plowed into the strife.

They fought for freedom and for peace
On strange and foreign shores;
Some lost new friends; some lost their lives
In long and brutal wars.

Other veterans answered a call
To support the ones who fought;
Their country had requirements for
The essential skills they brought.

We salute each and every one of them,
The noble and the brave,
The ones still with us here today,
And those who rest in a grave.

So here’s to our country’s heroes;
They’re a cut above the rest;
Let’s give the honor that is due
To our country’s very best.

By Joanna Fuchs

Take A Moment To Thank A Veteran

When you see someone in a uniform
Someone who serves us all,
Doing military duty,
Answering their country’s call,

Take a moment to thank them
For protecting what you hold dear;
Tell them you are proud of them;
Make it very clear.

Just tap them on the shoulder,
Give a smile, and say,
"Thanks for what you’re doing;
To keep us safe in the USA!"

By Joanna Fuchs

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have made the choice to serve our country in the military. I am forever grateful for the freedoms I am allowed because of your service!

A blog I love to read is called "To Love, Honor and Vacuum" by Sheila. She wrote a great post today about Remembering. Here is a bit of that post that I really agreed with and wanted to share with you:

"I know the enemy in Afghanistan is intractable, but America did a great job in Iraq defeating the violent factions, and peace is slowly returning there, as long as Obama doesn't wreck it by pulling out too quickly and refusing to sanction combat missions. But the truth is that this is not a peaceful world, and thinking so will not make it so. If we want peace and freedom, those come with a price. And if we have soldiers willing to bear that price, why should the rest of us complain so much? They're the ones doing the fighting!

I read an article in ChildView magazine yesterday, the magazine put out by World Vision, about Afghani brides. With the drought and food shortage affecting that country, parents are selling off their little girls as brides, some as young as 8 or 9. These girls have multiple children by the age of 14, and many die in childbirth. It is disgusting, perverted, and ever so wrong. That, I believe, is what we are fighting for. To give these girls a chance. To try to introduce law and order to that country and to fight for justice.

Once upon a time people understood that. They weren't so into themselves and their own lives. When there was a call, they answered it. They believed in duty and honour. They didn't run from fights. They believed in protecting people."

just another monday...

I can't believe it's already november. crazy! Christmas is in like 40 something days! I need to get shopping! I should make lists first so I dont overspend!
Our money is so tight that we can't afford much for christmas, but hopefully we will get to go to my parents house... Depends on my work schedule. We are closed christmas but open christmas eve. Oh the joys of retail.
Speaking of my job, I am really to the point where I can't wait to get out of there. I am really praying and hoping that Josh gets a job in the modesto/stockton area so we can move over there and I can transfer to a different store. we'll see!
In other news, I think I could be pregnant again. I haven't taken a test yet, but picked one up today. The same thing kinda happened that did the first time. I just spotted a little last night. Like barely anything, and thought that I was going to start my period, but so far nothing. And that isn't common for me. So Here's hoping! =) We would both be thrilled! Of course. =)
I will let you all know when we find out for sure! I don't know if it would be too soon to test, but I may take one in the morning, and if it is negative, either take one in a few more days, or wait until I go to the dr. on monday.
Anyways, hope you all have a great tuesday!

So much for NaBoPoMo

Well, I haven't been much of a blogger these past few days...

Josh's dad got here Thursday night, and friday we slept in a bit, then haded over the mountain to my parents house. We hung out with them friday night, then saturday we hung out, went to the bass pro shop that just opened in Manteca, then went out to eat with the whole family for my sister's birthday at Olive Garden. That was a lot of fun. Then we went and saw my brother and sister in law's new house, then came home and watched Baby Mama, which I thought was great! =) Then today we went to church, and heard a great sermon, and then had lunch with our good friends Seth and Heather. Always good company. =) Then we headed home!
Now we are hanging out watching a movie, and relaxing. I have to work tomorrow, but Josh and his dad are going to Virginia city, and just hanging out. Then he is flying home tuesday.
We have had a great visit, and it was great to see my family. Can't wait to go ack for thanksgiving! Thank God gas prices have gone down so much! We got gas for 2.19 in California! Crazy! It was cheaper there than it is here. =)
Well, back to the movie. Have a great monday!

I got tagged!

Sweetassbabs tagged me!

Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by including links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blogs

Lets see if I can think of 7 interesting things about me...

1. My husband and I dated for 3 months before I decided to move across the country to be closer to him. We got married a year later. (after I lived with his family for a year)
2. I love cold weather. I love snow. I hate the heat.
3. I talk with my hands. Even when I am on the phone. Or laying in bed in the dark.
4. I am a reality TV Junkie. I love reality tv. My favorites are Americas next top model, Amazing Race and Rock of Love. (we'll see if it comes back for another season.)
5. I've worked in a coffee shop for 9 years of my life. My parents owned a coffee shop for 7 years, and I worked there for 7 years, then a couple years after we closed, I worked for starbucks.
6. My mom is one of my best friends. We talk at least 3 times a week on the phone.
7. I am extremely forgetful. If you tell me something to remember, make sure I write it down! =)

Ok, that only took me about an hour! haha. I don't feel like tagging anyone, so if you want to do this, consider yourself tagged! =) Hope you all have a great weekend!

My father in law is in town, and we are going to go over to my parents for a couple days. We will be back sunday night. =)

Happy Saturday!

And don't forget to set your clocks back tonight!

Today has been a nice day. We woke up early this morning, and I made eggs and bacon for breakfast (the hubby loves bacon!) Then we walked down to the main street for the Nevada Day parade! Nevada became a state (admitted to the Union) October 31, 1864, so Nevada Day is October 31st.of each year. (or the last friday of october) So there is always a big parade the saturday after. This was the first year we went to the parade. It was neat. It did drizzle most of the time, but nothing too bad. Just a little cold.
We sat though most of the parade, then decided to start walking back because it looked like more rain was going to come (and we had walked a mile and a half to get there.) so we headed down the street to get some coffee at dutch brothers, then walked home. All together we walked about 3.5 miles! Crazy! But it was worth not having to fight for parking, then try and get out of there.
So after we got home, Josh turned on the tv, and now is asleep on the couch, and I have been busy entering the last of the bloggy giveaways... most of them are over or ending today, and altogether, I have entered probably 900 giveaways! (trying for christmas presents, cause we are broke!) And I have already won a cute gardening apron and a handbag organizer. So fun!
I think we are going to try and go out for dinner tonight and make use of one last coupon since my 2008 entertainment book coupons expire today. bummer!

I really think I need to start selling stuff on Etsy. After seeing all these things on the bloggy giveaways, there are so many things I could easily make! I have an etsy account, but dont have anything listed yet... I need to change that. So yeah, keep watching! I will be opening an etsy shop soon!

Oh, and its also NaBloPoMo! So I am going to try and post every day this month! Hope you all have a great weekend, and don't eat too much candy! =)
