SoftBums Cloth diaper Review and Giveaway!

I have been hearing lots of good things about the SoftBums diapers, so I was really excited when I got the chance to do a review for them!

About SoftBums
SoftBums is the husband and wife team of Sarah and Brian Van Bogart. The're based in Minnesota and have been selling the unique Echo diapering system, formerly called PerfectFit, since 2008.

Sarah Van Bogart, founder, co-owner, and designer for SoftBums, has been sewing and designing diapers for over 10 years. She brings her unique experience as a mother of four, La Leche League leader and even training as a midwife to her products. She works hard to provide the best products she possibly can, because she knows how frustrating it is to have a diaper that fits badly, leaks or wears out after just a few months.

The Slide²Size system is the result of years of designs and prototypes in Sarah's quest to create the perfect one-size-fits-all diaper. It all started when one of Sarah's friends bought a whole supply of small size diapers for their newborn son. They loved the diapers, but before long he had outgrown them all! They were so frustrated that they decided not to buy more diapers in a larger size and started using disposables instead. Sarah knew there had to be a better way and started working on her first one-size design. This was in 2003, and hundreds of prototypes and patterns later, the SoftBums one-size-fits-all diaper was born!

As awesome as the original one-size SoftBums diaper was, it was made even better with adjustable leg elastic. It was Sarah's husband Brian, with his technical background, who helped inspire the adjustable leg design now known as Slide²Size. With Slide²Size, babies with super skinny legs as well as babies with super chubby legs get to wear the same diaper and have a nice trim fit with no leaks! Pregnant moms can finally buy a diaper before baby is born and know that SoftBums will actually fit their tiny 6 lb newborn and last until potty training no matter what size or shape Baby is!

SoftBums now sells the Echo diaper with Slide²Size on www.softbums.com and through a growing list of stores in the US and Canada.

Because Sarah and Brian are committed to quality, SoftBums is committed to quality, and you can see that quality in everything they make. They're so confident in that quality, in fact, that they'll repair or replace any defect you may find with your SoftBums products for a whole year. Nothing lasts forever, and diapers go through some pretty rough treatment, but they do their best to make sure yours last to see your baby potty train!

SoftBums Echo is a 2 part system that consists of the Echo Shell and an absorbent Pod. The Echo shell is waterproof and breathable. SoftBums Pods are the other half of your Echo system. Pods are also one-size-fits all and easily fold under to match the size of your Echo Shell. Pods are made of soft absorbent fabric and snap quickly in and out of your Echo Shell. Because the Pod snaps in instead of stuffing, you can change the Pod and keep reusing the Echo Shell over and over, saving laundry, space and money! Pods also give you the option to choose a DryTouch or Organic diaper for your baby using the same system. You can also get Mini Pods for extra absorbency when you need it, or for newborns. Mini Pods add even more versatility to your Echo system! Mini Pods are like Pods but smaller and without a snap. They're perfect for newborns! You can use them for your baby for the first few weeks when they're tiny, then switch to Pods when they're bigger and need more absorbency. You can also use Mini Pods to add to your Echo Shell along with a Pod for extra absorbency for overnight use or heavy wetters. Like Pods they're available both in DryTouch or Organic Bamboo.

so, now that you know all about the system, I can tell you what I think! I love this diaper! I love the drawstring elastic on the legs, and that I can get a custom fit on my son without the legs being too tight or the waist being too loose. It is great! The diapers are also really soft, and they are definitely something I wouldn't mind having against my skin!
The absorbency is also very good. I have used this diaper several times now, and have not had any leak problems. I even used it overnight with just the organic bamboo pod, and it didn't leak! I love it! I would love to get more of these before our next baby is born! I can definitely see it fitting a newborn too.
