The Kakadu plum is a fruit that comes from the terminalia ferdiandiana tree that is native to northern Australia. The fruit looks similar to an olive in that it is green, medium sized and droplet shaped. It contains the highest level of vitamin C of any known fresh fruit. The Vitamin C content is 3000mg per 100g of fruit. An orange is only about 50mg. The fruit also contains phytochemicals such as gallis and ellagic acids. Gallic acid has antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties. ellagic acid has been known to have anticarcinogenic properties.
The Kakadoodle dew plum powder has been processed in cold temperatures to ensure the nutritional value and integrity of the product. The organic fruit is harvested in the Northern Territory of Australia under Australian organic certification guidelines without the use of pesticides and chemicals. The fruit is screened and pureed before being chilled, dried and milled into a powder.
There are many possible uses for the Kakadu plum powder including supplements, nutritional bars and baked goods, dry soup mixes, beverages and cosmetic applications.
The powder I got is a nutritional supplement that comes in a stick that you add to juice or water. I tried it in water, and it doesn't have a ton of flavor in itself, so I think it would be a lot better in some juice. But I like that it has tons of vitamin C! The soap smells light and fresh, and works great! It leaves you feling very clean!
