Seventh Generation Review and Giveaway

I was recently given the opportunity to review several product from Seventh Generation. Seventh Generation is committed to becoming the world's most trusted brand of authentic, safe, and environmentally-responsible products for a healthy home. For 20 years, the closely held Burlington, Vermont-based company has been at the forefront of a cultural change in consumer behavior and business ethics.

Right now Seventh Generation has a campaign called the "million baby crawl" going on. From the site: "Mounting scientific evidence points to widespread exposure to chemicals that can cause serious and adverse impacts on human health, particularly for children.

The federal law that should protect us from health-harming chemicals just doesn't work. Since 1976, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has required safety testing on only 200 of the more than 80,000 chemicals on the market. We need a stronger chemical law to keep our families safe and healthy."

They are pushing for stronger laws, and you can help! Join the Million Baby Crawl now!

Seventh Generation was gracious enough to send me a "free and clear" cleaning stater kit that included Disinfecting Multi-Surface cleaner, Disinfecting Bathroom cleaner, Disinfecting Wipes,Laundry Detergent, Liquid Fabric Softener, Dish liquid, All- Purpose Cleaner, Auto-Dishwasher Pacs, Glass Cleaner, Natural Paper Towels and a Seventh Gen Recycled Bag.

I was so excited to get my box of goodies in the mail and start using them!

I have to say that I am sold on these products! I love them! The first ones I tried was the laundry detergent and fabric softener. I used them on a load of whites that was full of my husbands stinky socks ;-) It worked great! They were all fresh and white! There wasn't a strong detergent smell like you get with some detergents, and I love that!
Next I cleaned my kitchen with the multi surface cleaner. It worked great! It even got up bacon grease from dinner the night before with out any effort!
Speaking of bacon grease, I used the dish soap for the skillet I cooked the bacon in, and it worked like a charm!
Same goes for the rest of the products! I will definitely look for these next time I need cleaning products. And the best part? They are available at most stores, and there are even coupons out for them!

So, you want to win some of your own? Seventh Generation has offered one of my readers a kit just like the one I recieved!

I learned that about 35 billion loads of laundry are washed each year in the U.S. The average household washes about 50 pounds of laundry in 7.4 weekly loads, cleaning some 6,000 items annually. About half of all loads are done in warm water, 35% in cold, and 15% in hot. Some 90% of those loads are dried in a gas or electric dryer.
Thank you for the chance to win!

I learned that if everybody in the US replaces their current liquid laundry soap with 7th Gen's we could save over 466,000 drums of oil! Wow!

There is a similar savings with waterbottles and replacing disposable ones with reusable ones, such as the fancy loveable ones put out by Tupperware ;)

I read that they are working to ensure that their products have a circular lifecycle, meaning natural resources are being used and renewed at a rate that is always below their rate of depletion.
