This is a god one...

if you have a moment i would recommend watching this short video. you would have been able to see this as a commercial during the super bowl but the exec's at nbc would rather flood your senses with soft-porn, violence and greed in between snaps and touchdowns. and since their "guy" won and now sits in the oval office they a required to run all new pieces through him and his handlers so as to not offend any of their more liberal viewers.

(thanks JoshuaP... I totally stole your blog!)

It's been a while...

Sorry I haven't blogged much in a while. I have spent most of my free time this week entering hundreds of bloggy giveaways! I finally made it through all the ones I wanted to enter.
Things have been going good on the pregnancy front... kinda. haha. I had a bout of morning sickness today that was pretty bad, after almost a week of nothing. And I haven't been able to sleep very well at all... so I have been really tired. And I think the baby is finally starting to sit on my bladder, because I have been peeing like crazy! (not to mention the gas...) ;-) And I am feeling like things are moving around to make room for the baby. It is definitely a weird feeling.
Anyways, Josh is gone again for the weekend... and I went to dinner with our friends Adam and Renee tonight at a local brewery that has great food. that was fun. And I work the rest of the weekend. So that stinks. :-p

Fun thing today! I got my valentines swap package! I love doing swaps, and wish I had more money so I could do them all! Anyways, here is my lovely swap package:

I got a hershey's bar, reeses pieces (my fav!) and 6 packages of Bob's peppermint sticks... I mentioned that I loved them, but that they aren't available here, (Cracker Barrel sells them, but there isn't one within 200 miles of us!) and she sent me enough to last quite a while! And a cute little candle set. =) Very nice! Thanks again Michelle!

Anyways, I will leave you with some pictures I took today of Stella and Maddie. I guess they both just wanted to be close to me, and ignored each other. (they get along, but aren't the best of pals.) ;-)

Hope everyone has a great weekend! And don't forget to enter my contest! (or enter again if you are a reader!)

awesome giveaways!

Yummy Mummy Cynthia is doing a great organzational giveaway on her blog! Go check it out! =)

Little sister!

So my little sister came up to visit me this weekend! I got off work yesterday, and we went out for chinese food. yum!
Today we got up this morning and drove up to Reno with my friend Renee, to go to once upon a child for their redline clearance sale. They give you a bag, and everything you can stuff in your bag you paid $10 for. Great deal! We each got a bag and stuffed away! Between the three of us we got almost $300 worth of baby clothes for $30! Here is the stuff we got in our two bags:

All that for $20! Renee got a lot too. She isn't pregnant yet, but they are trying, so I will use all the clothes, then pass them on to them. =) Most of the stuff we got is pretty gender neutral, with a few boy and a few girl pieces. One of my favorites I got was a really cute Ralph Lauren Cotton jacket and pants. Definitely a killer deal! If you have a once upon a child near you, I would recommend signing up for their newsletter online. You never know when htey will have a sale like this again! =)

After we got home from Reno, Autumn and I went up to virginia city. It is an old town that has lots of shops and has been kept mostly original from the 1800's.
Here is a picture of the two of us... I look terrible:, but oh well. haha. and there is a picture of my her being a dork. ;-)

Now we are just hanging out and watching Miss America! =) Hope everyone else has a great rest of the weekend!

Inauguration Prayer

I thought Rick Warren's prayer was really good. So I am sharing for those of you who didn't hear or see it...

Let us pray.

Almighty God, our Father, everything we see and everything we can’t see exists because of you alone. It all comes from you. It all belongs to you. It all exists for your glory.

History is your story. The Scripture tells us, “Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God. The Lord is One.” And you are the compassionate and merciful one. And you are loving to everyone you have made.

Now, today, we rejoice not only in America’s peaceful transfer of power for the 44th time. We celebrate a hingepoint of history with the inauguration of our first African American president of the United States. We are so grateful to live in this land, a land of unequaled possibility, where the son of an African immigrant can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.

Give to our new President, Barack Obama, the wisdom to lead us with humility, the courage to lead us with integrity, the compassion to lead us with generosity. Bless and protect him, his family, Vice President Biden, the cabinet, and every one of our freely elected leaders.

Help us, O God, to remember that we are Americans, united not by race, or religion, or blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all. When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you, forgive us. When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone, forgive us. When we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve, forgive us. And as we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches, and civility in our attitudes, even when we differ.

Help us to share, to serve and to seek the common good of all. May all people of good will today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet. And may we never forget that one day all nations and all people will stand accountable before you. We now commit our new president and his wife, Michelle and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care.

I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life, Yeshua, Isa, Jesus [Spanish pronunciation], Jesus, who taught us to pray:

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

I also took this post from a blogger I read, Blue Eyed Bride... I thought it was a great post, and I completely agree!

"I'm really moved to see so many Americans joined together in Washington for a common purpose. I love patriotism and any time I see millions of American flags waving around I'm going to get choked up.

I am, however, disappointed that so many people are wearing shirts with Obama's face on them and hats that say "Obama." Why not just a shirt that says "America?" I am so tired of hearing this person be glorified and tired of hearing people talk like he is the savior they've been waiting for. He is a man. Just a man. I just think it's really unhealthy to treat a human being this way. He has big shoes to fill and really high expectations to meet and I think Americans are making those expectations bigger and bigger every day as they build Barack Obama up to be this savior.

As I saw all of the flags waving around this morning, I thought, "Wow. Wouldn't it just be incredible if that many people got together to glorify Jesus Christ? What if that many people got together and instead of shouting 'OBAMA', they shouted 'JESUS?'"

Can we have a $150 million celebration on Easter Sunday?

I heard Oprah say the other day about inauguration day, "What a day of rejoicing that will be!"

I'm sorry. Those are the words to a hymn. It goes, "When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be."

I'll be praying for our country, for the Obamas as a family, and for our new President. I hope these next four years are the best our country has seen. But I don't plan to praise Barack Obama after that happens. I will surely thank him, but I'll be praising Jesus."

I really pray that Barack Obama proves us wrong and does a good job. =) That's all I will say. It is a bit exciting to know that we are alive for this historical event.

I want Rockband!

So yesterday, we went to our friend's house (Adam and Renee) and they had just gotten rockband, so we played it. It is so fun! I rock at drums! Haha.
Now I really want it! Anyone want to donate? ;-)

Today I cleaned a bit, and sat and watched tv pretty much all day. It was nice.

I know, I know, I have such an exciting life. Haha.

Anyone else love American Idol tryouts as much as I do? ;-)

Alright. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. I don't have another day off until next wednesday. bleh.

Heartbeat!

Well, I had my 12 week appointment this morning. It went well, everything looks good, and the baby's heartbeat is nice and strong, and in the normal range! Baby Welch was being cooperative today, and the Dr. was able to find the heartbeat right away! It was so neat and exciting to hear for the first time!
I am off to run to the store to grab some ice cream for dinner at our friend's tonight! I will try and post more later...
=)

I spoke too soon...

The nausea came back for a last hurrah... at least that is what I am hoping. I am miserable, and nothing is helping! Thanks God I am almost 12 weeks. I pray it goes away then like it's supposed to!

update and a question...

Well, things are going ok here. I have been sick for the past 4-5 days. Which really sucks because I can't take anything for it. I have had a head cold.. a cough, severe congestion, runny nose, headache... not fun.
Also, the past 4 mornings I have woken up at 4am and haven't been able to fall back asleep. (other than a little dozing on and off, which doesn't really help) So I have been exhausted on top of being sick. Not the most fun combo.
Luckily I have the next 2 days off, so I can attempt to sleep in and catch up on some rest...

Ok, so here is a question for all of you. Mainly those of you who are pregnant or who have had kids.
I know most of you have probably heard of the old wives tale of holding the ring on a string over your belly and if it swings side to side it's supposed to be a boy and front to back, a girl.
How many of you have tried this? and how many of you have tried it and had it be right?

The reason I ask is because We tried it today twice and both times it indicated a boy. We aren't officially finding out, but I just thought that was neat since we both want a boy.

let me know what you all think!

why am I awake at 5am?

Why in the heck am I wide awake at 5:00am?!? I woke up around 4 and couldn't fall back asleep, and finally got out of bed around 4:45. This totally stinks! I have been so exausted lately, and to not be able to sleep is just so not fair! Haha.
Anyways. I have been meaning to write a post lately, but just haven't gotten around to it. =)
Happy New year everyone! Josh and I had dinner at Denny's, and then just spent the evening at home watching The Office. We watched the ball drop, then I went to bed! Such an exciting night!
We have some friends that came up to visit yesterday, and are up until tomorrow morning. We love having friends come visit! And I was lucky enough to get yesterday and today off work! We are planning on going sledding today, but it looks like the weather may not cooperate with us. (the crazy wind is what woke me up this morning!) We may just drive up and play for a few minutes. We'll see.
I think I forgot to tell everyone what we had decided regarding the baby. We had talked about it, and decided not to find out! I still don't want to find out, but now Josh is wanting to find out. Guess we will have to talk about it some more. I still have 10 weeks until my next ultrasound anyways, so we have a little time. =)
Speaking of the baby, the 4 of us (Our visiting friends are expecting 10 weeks ahead of us) went to Babies R Us yesterday and did our registries! Fun fun! I am so excited. (and completely freaked out too, but I think that's normal! haha) I think the baby has begun to suck my brain cells. They aren't kidding when they say you lose IQ points when you are pregnant! haha. I am constantly forgetting stuff, stuttering and even forgetting what I am saying, while I am saying it. Just ask Josh... He gives me a hard time for it.
My morning sickness is still there, though still not as bad as it was the first few weeks. Now I just have a cold. Sore throat, super congested, runny nose, headache, sinus crap. Ugh, and I can't even take anything for it until I am through my first trimester, which isn't for 2 more weeks! blah. I hope It goes away soon!
Oh, and work is going better! I am not miserable there anymore, which is great! A couple people still bug me, but I just ignore them for the most part. haha. But I am really glad that that whole situation has gotten better. It definitely makes the days better when I don't dread going to work. The schedule still sucks, but oh well. (I have worked 6 of the past 8 weekends. we have 5 techs. only 2 work on the weekend. we shouldn't have to work more than 1-2 weekends a month each. not fair? I know!)
Anyways, I am going to sign off for now. Hope you all have a great weekend!
