First off, because I know you all are wondering. I took the pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative. But, I think I just took it too early, so I will take one again in a few days if nothing changes. =)
So yesterday I finally signed up to sponsor a child through Compassion international. I have been meaning to for quite a while now, but just haven't sat down and done it. We are in between churches right now, and I want to be able to still give monetarily, and I used to sponsor a child, but had to stop when I financially couldn't continue. So I am definitely excited about being able to start again!
I picked this little guy:
Isn't he just too cute! He has been on the waiting list for a while, and I wanted to choose a child who has been waiting. =) His name is Walter, he is 5 years old and he lives in Peru with his mother and three siblings. He just stood out to me because he was the only kid who had a big grin on their face. =)
Anyways, I better go finish some dishes before I have to head to work. Have a great wednesday!

Katrina,
I think you're fabulous sponsoring a child. I just couldn't help but think about the movie Garden State. Have you ever seen it? It's very strange overall - but, part of the story line is that the sponsor child decides that he wants to live with his American "family" instead of his African one - so, he does. Just kind of silly. I wonder if that ever really happens?
And - I'm sure that God will give you a chance to be a mother soon enough! *Smile*

I have been thinking about adopting a child as well. We discuss it off and on, but just haven't actually done it yet. I think now we will.
I''m so glad you got a Compassion child. I have the compassion thing on my sidebar. WE have two children now. One of ours was 18 and started working, so they sent us a new one and we like him too. Remember to write him letters. :)
Absolutely incredible -- I love it -- What a great thing to do!
Oh! From Peru, like me!! I've been looking for an international organization that helps you sponsor Peruvian children - I wanted an international one because I don't trust the national organizations, most of the time 80% of the money you give stays with the 'volunteers' - so this is great!! I will look into that website and hopefully do the same. Thanks, you are really awesome!
That is so great and your little guy is too cute!
Aw, that's so sweet! He's a cutie! Sorry to hear about the prego test...let's just hope it's too early!
what an adorable little boy! i've always wanted to sponsor a child (i cry every time those infomercials come on tv) but have never been able to do so financially.
What a sweet thing to do! Good for you :)
