The last few days...

Well, It is Friday... We leave Virginia to go home tomorrow.
It has been a fun, interesting and educational trip. I have now seen our country's capital for the first time, and stepped foot where the first settlers of our country first walked.
Wednesday we went to the Air and Space Museum where the Space Shuttle Enterprise is currently on display. It was so neat! I never thought it was so big, but it was huge! They had lots of cool planes there too, and my husband, the plane lover, was in heaven! After that we drove to the Metro station and rode the Metro in to DC. We got off at the Federal Triangle station, and walked over to the White House, and got there just in time to see the Presidential Helicopter Land on the lawn and drop someone off. (We think it was the vice-president or president... they had 2 decoys, and extremely high security around the whole area, even closing off the front of the white house...) So that was awesome, I got some great pictures! Then we walked to the Washington, and Lincoln monuments, saw the reflecting pool, the WWII memorial and the Vietnam Memorial. Then we walked down towards the capitol building, and went into the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History before Going back the the Metro Station. It was a pretty cool day. We saw lots of stuff, and walked so much we were all exausted that night.
Yesterday we pretty much just hung out, went shopping, and sat in the hot tub for a while, and today we relaxed, went and did some letterboxing, and swam in the pool for a while. Now they are all watching Spiderman 3 and I am here playing online! =)
We head back up to the airport for our trip home tomorrow. I am ready. I am ready to see my puppy. =)

I ran the Marine Corp Marathon through all the sites you noted-plus quite a few more. It is truly awe-inspiring!
